lykke li always manages to captivate me. when i heard her music i found myself willingly stepping into lykke li's world. her dance dance dance performance with bon iver on youtube got me really excited and started to look her up. the swedish singer writes with attitude and confidence. i'm good i'm gone has an infectious beat and movement, it is almost like she performs perfection by chance. i like how she uses props and sometimes performs with draped curtains around her on stage with mist and a dream like atmosphere. her classy but edgy style compliments her alternative approach to music. her attitude reminds me of coco sumner.
in this particular performance in the link below, you can tell that everyone on the set is mesmerised by her. i like the arrangement here, it is very different to anything i have seen before, her vocals are enchanting. robyn contributes to the chorus with a sharp sounding quality which compliments lykke li's well. her lyrics resonate with such confidence "you'll be calling but i wont be at the phone"
whilst i was searching on youtube i came across many big live performances from lykke li. my favourite songs of hers include, little bit . get some . sadness is a blessing. all of these are unique and i will probably write about all of them at some stage.
